Nubuck is top-grain cattle leather that has been sanded or buffed on the grain side, or outside, to give a slight nap of short protein fibers, producing a velvet-like surface.

This leather is similar to aniline but with the added advantage of a thin protective oil and/or wax coating that helps resist stains. Waxy leather is designed to look used and distressed over time, giving it more character.Heavy use and age will separate the oils or waxes  producing lighter areas, especially on seat cushions and chair arms.Scratches on waxy leather can be  smoothed away by moving the oils and using the palm of your hand. This type of leather is water resistant but should not be exposed to direct sunlight.

Italian Aniline
The most natural type of leather available.  It does not have a protective coating nor any treatments that alter the natural feel of the material.
