The Heart Chair takes its name from its heart-shaped silhouette. The extended wings of the backrest are reminiscent of Mickey Mouse ears, but can also be interpreted as a contemporary development of the classic wingback chair.
Defying gravity, the chair was both futuristic and shocking, so much so that when it was exhibited in a shop window in New York City police had to order its removal due to the traffic chaos its presence created.
The pointed base of the chair's cone-shape is swivel-mounted on an aluminum base. In spite of its extravagant appearance the chair is surprisingly comfortable.
