AJ Wall Lamp

Regular price RM460

Arne Jacobsen designed the AJ Wall for the SAS Royal Hotel in Copenhagen. The lamp was part of the total design concept created for the hotel. Several of the products created for the hotel are regarded as design icons and within the lighting industry the AJ lamps in particular have obtained world-fame.

The AJ Wall Lamp has a fixture head with a distinct, asymmetrical shape, which determines the light characteristics of the fixture. The head is rotatable and can be turned 60 degrees to the sides.

This lamp has an adjustable head that makes it an ideal reading lamp. Shade can be adjusted to optimize light distribution in a downward direction. The shade is painted white on the inside to ensure soft comfortable light.

This wall lamp works equally well with antique and modern furniture due to its simple design.

Arne JacobsenDesigned by Arne Jacobsen

DENMARK (February 11, 1902 - March 24, 1971) Influenced by Le Corbusier, Gunnar Asplund and Ludwig Mies van der Rohe, Jacobsen embraced a functionalist approach from the outset. He was among the first to introduce modernist ideas to Denmark and create industrial furniture that built upon on its craft-based design heritage. Jacobsen's work remains appealing and fresh today, combining free-form sculptural shapes with the traditional attributes of Scandinavian design, material and structural integrity.
