Description
Arne Jacobsen designed the AJ Table for the SAS Royal Hotel in Copenhagen. The lamp was part of the total design concept created for the hotel. Several of the products created for the hotel are regarded as design icons and within the lighting industry the AJ Lamps in particular have obtained world-fame.
DISTINCT VERSATILITYThe lamp echoes the oblique angles of his Series 3300 furniture. To maximize the lamp’s functionality as a reading light, Jacobsen created a shade that tilts up or down, directing maximum light to where it’s needed.
COMFORT WITH FUNCTIONThis lamp has an adjustable head and the shade can be adjusted to optimize light distribution in a downward direction. The shade is painted white on the inside to ensure soft comfortable light.
ELEGANT SIMPLICITYThis lamp works equally well with antique and modern furniture due to its simple design. Due to the usability as a working desk lamp the shade has been expanded. The base of the table lamp was originally intended to accommodate an ashtray but now contributes solely to the design.
