In contrast to the strong horizontal and vertical lines, the 2097/30 features thirty candelabra lights, each supported by a straight arm extending from the central steel column, giving a mid-century modern take on the traditional chandelier.ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN
Gino Sarfatti held a degree in aeronaval engineering and was instrumental in advancing the modern architectural movement in lighting. His style shows in the 2097/30 chandelier.
Most of Gino Sarfatti's designs have the purist beauty of thoughtfully made tools. His utilitarianism was reflected in his decision to identify each lamp by a numerical code, rather than a name.TIMELESS BEAUTY
The exceptionally beautiful 2097/30 chandelier is a classic in the history of Italian lighting design. This beautiful chandelier stands as a testament that good design is truly timeless.
Designed by Gino Sarfatti
ITALY (1912 - 1985) Gino Sarfatti is one of the most important Italian lighting designers of the twentieth century. He is considered to be the godfather of Italy's post-war design renaissance together with other luminaries such as Gio Ponti. He designed his first lamp at the age of 26 after which he established Arteluce; one of the greatest Italian lighting manufacturers of the 20th century. His beautiful light fixtures have an attractive minimalist aesthetic, simple yet essential. Gino Sarfatti was obsessed with light and the elegant simplicity of the light bulb. He always believed that the most important element of a lamp is the shape of the bulb itself.
